Job Description- Warehouse Operative

The Company

Festive Lights are a leading online supplier of Christmas, home, and garden lights, selling to both individual consumers and businesses. Established over 24 years ago, we are now growing the fulfilment side of our business and are looking for a Warehouse Operative to work in our friendly warehouse. The role will provide full time work for the right applicant.

The Role

Within the role of Warehouse Operative, you will be a key team player in the process of dispatching multi ship orders. You will need to do this fast and efficiently and most important accurately.

The main responsibility of this role is to manually organise the parcels coming off the conveyor belt and stack them onto the correct pallet and wrap the pallets ready for the delivery partners to collect.

You will also support in the warehouse with the picking and packing of orders when required. Within this role you will be required to manual handle heavy goods.

As a member of the warehouse team, you should be highly motivated, be able to work on your own initiative and under pressure. Also be able to meet targets set, have excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.

Desirable skills/experience.

· Experience of working in a busy e-commerce warehouse.

. Be able to manual handle parcels and pallets up to 25kg.

· Have a good level of computer literacy.

· Have good numeracy skills.

· Have good verbal communication skills.

· Experienced in working under pressure to tight deadlines.

· Good punctuality and attendance are essential.

· Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Key responsibilities.

. Stack the parcels onto the correct pallets ready for delivery partners to collect.

· Packing customer orders at packing stations using Warehouse Management Systems.

· Picking items using a handheld terminal, ready for packing and dispatch.

· Locate products and return products to pick locations with handheld terminals.

· Have responsibility for quality assurance and housekeeping.

· Liaising with delivery partners, supervisors and warehouse manager.

· Other ad-hoc warehouse duties.

Location.

Festive Lights, Unit 2, Martland Park, Hillridge Rd, Wigan, WN5 0LS

Due to the location of the warehouse, own transport would be an advantage.

Hours

37.5 hours per week, Full-time, Permanent

Standard hours are Monday to Friday 8.30pm- 5.00pm with a 60min unpaid lunch break.

Successful candidate must be willing to work overtime at peak time of year, approx. 13th Nov to 22ndDec. This will include 1 day at the weekend.

Salary:

Monthly pay,

£10.90 per hour (£21,255 per annum)

If working a weekend shift as overtime this is paid at time and half.

Start Date: ASAP
