Description
A leading Manufacturing company is seeking a Warehouse Operative to play a key role in supporting the Operational team with day-to-day activities. In this role, you will assure an adequate inventory of base oils and components are maintained and available upon demand. Support the blending function as needed and coordinate the shipment of commercial and experimental samples from domestic or international manufacturing and R&D facilities.
To be successful you should possess previous experience in a similar role, have excellent communication skills and ideally have experience as a Dangerous goods safety adviser (DGSA) but not essential.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assign inventory numbers to incoming samples and notify the requestor of arrival.
- Update the inventory database on a daily basis and conduct physical inventory counts at prescribed time intervals.
- Maintain compliance with government/OSHA regulations. Insure that import release forms are present in order to facilitate the release of requested materials.
- Number and record MSDS and C/As and forward them to appropriate parties.
- Monitor inventory level and order materials and supplies as needed. May recommend changes in inventory levels based on historical order/usage data. May add inventory items based on historical demand and usage data and recommend deletion of seldom-used items.
- Maintain and update blend program data. Confirm complete and accurate data on blend requests. Assist in the actual blending process as needed.
- Carry out blending process as required to meet customer and program requirements.
- May receive, enter and schedule sample orders from internal customers (R&D, Sales, Plants) in SAP.
- For all R&D shipments, obtain necessary air approvals from EHS. Review and classify regulated domestic and international shipments correctly and complete the necessary paperwork (labels, airway bills, invoices, declarations, etc). Report R&D shipments daily via email and follow up with the R&D shipping department on all late shipments.
- Maintain proactive contact with internal customers regarding product availability and delays in shipments. Track shipments when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hazardous material, shipping rules and regulations as well as the legal aspects of international shipping by attending the appropriate annual fresher courses.
- Assure that complete ISO documentation is maintained on all ISO or quality-related activities. Participate in ISO-related activities and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the ISO function.
- Maintain inventory and warehouse supplies in accordance with 5S principles.
Requirements:
- Valid Forklift Driving Licence
- Dangerous Goods Safety (DGS) experience
- Experience within a warehouse environment (Desirable)
