Job description
Warehouse Operative
Ashford, Kent
£11.20 hourly rate (11p hourly uplift for designated First Aiders & 23p hourly uplift for designated FLT driver)
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 6.30pm on a rotating shift pattern (42.5 working hours per week) plus a 30 minute break
You understand the importance of attention to detail when it comes to picking orders, checking everything is correct before shipping to customers and maintaining pace to achieve business targets.
Our warehouse deals with large bulk deliveries from suppliers and both small box and large pallets shipments out to customers. Because we deal with pharmaceutical products, accuracy is absolutely key for our team, especially when it comes to checking expiry dates and batch numbers.
You’ll work both alone and as part of our small, friendly team carrying out the usual warehouse duties, such as unloading vehicles, sorting items into bins and picking and packing. You’ll also pick up some related administrative tasks including arranging courier collections and stock counts.
You’ll be organised and methodical and comfortable working to deadlines in a busy environment. You’ll also have previous warehouse experience. A Forklift licence would be advantageous but not essential.
Although you will be picking and packing, there is no heavy lifting involved with this role.
As well as salary you’ll receive a contributory pension, 28 days holidays incl. Bank Holidays (increasing to 31 days based on service) and a bonus based on business performance. We’re a short walk from Ashford International Train Station and also have plenty of free on-site parking.
You may have experience of the following: Warehouse Operative, Warehouse Assistant, Delivery Fulfilment Assistant, Picker, Packer, Distribution Centre, Order Fulfilment, Goods Out, Distribution Centre Operative, etc.
