Warehouse Operative
Location: Gloucester
Hours: Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm (37.5hrs)
Salary: £20,475 per annum

We've been selling electric bikes for over 6 years and opened our current Bristol showroom in November 2017 which then moved to a new location in Bristol on 27th July 2021. We have grown massively over the last few years, now with a total of 10 stores in Stroud, Gloucester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Battersea, Brentwood, Uckfield, Wilmslow and Harrogate.
Our Gloucester warehouse distributes bikes and bike parts to customers, group stores, partner clients and suppliers. As warehouse operative, you'll need a high level of dedication to ensure all users receive the right products at the right time. Working on your own occasionally in the course of daily duties means trust and honesty are key attributes of the job holder.
As a warehouse operative, you will be responsible for:
Assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders with shippers allocating delivery notes and required paperwork, ensuring customer requirements are followed.
Following daily production plan schedules as directed by the Team Supervisor and/or management team.
Supporting the Team Supervisor with investigating and resolving picking, packing and dispatch errors.
Answering the team phones and assisting the wider business with any warehouse related queries.
Processing of purchase orders from all suppliers to maintain stock levels.
Processing of Customer Returns.
Unloading and loading of vehicles delivering/collecting goods.
Ensuring Health & Safety procedures and responsibilities are met and carried out in accordance with company policies, highlighting any breaches immediately to a member of the management or Health & Safety teams.
Assisting with monthly racking inspections carried out and any concerns highlighted to Warehouse Supervisor.
Carrying out and involved in perpetual stock counts and annual stock takes.
Completing admin duties required in the warehouse environment.
Working closely with the Customer Care & Service teams to resolve stock and customer queries.
Booking in all deliveries accurately, highlighting any discrepancies or damages.
General housekeeping and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager.
The successful Warehouse Operative will have:
A background in warehousing, picking/packing and maintaining stock (desirable).
Education to GCSE level; or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Be able to perform physical tasks - you’ll regularly be required to stand, walk, reach, stoop and kneel, as well as climb or balance to get to higher picking points via warehouse steps, ladders and if/when qualified, use of the scissor lift.
Be able to lift and/or move up to 20 kg and frequently 30 kg (with assistance).
Good understanding of manual handling and safe practices when working on or around vehicles in a warehouse environment.
Computer skills (desirable).
Good telephone, writing and communication skills.
A high level of accuracy and an eye for detail.
An ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision whilst being a good team player.
