Part of the Culina Group, Warrens offer storage and logistic solutions of non-refrigerated baked goods including bread, cake and patisserie with a tremendous industry reputation for its dedication towards its services. Warrens are the primary distributor for Tesco & JS, also working with but not limited to other daily FMCG customers such as Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Waitrose, Morrison’s, Iceland, Ocado and Bookers.
Due to continued growth, this new and exciting opportunity for a Pick & Replenishment Warehouse Manager has arisen to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the warehousing functions. It will be your responsibility to maintain leading standards of customer service and employee engagement.
Shifts for this vacancy:
Nights: 4 on, 4 off – 18:00-06:00
Key accountabilities include:
- Ensure total safety awareness and full compliance with the company’s health & safety policy and procedures through safe systems of work and practices, good housekeeping and the provision of information and training to the warehouse team
- Manage picking and replenishment activities to meet on time order preparation in line with planned outbound schedules
- Ensure the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities, with clear escalation and recovery plans in place in the event of risk to operations
- Coach, lead, motivate and engage the warehouse team, including regular reviews, personal development and succession planning
- Labour planning to support daily requirements
- Monitor retail/supplier outbound activity vs forecasting intelligence – for long range labour planning
- Understand and analyse operational elements which serve to increase productivity and reduce inefficiency
- Calculate, communicate and cost recovery from clients associated with value added services (VAS), plus efficient management of VAS completion
- Performance management to ensure that agreed metrics are met and that deviation is supported and corrected, whilst recognising exemplary performance
- Effective deployment of resources to flow weekly peaks and troughs in volumes driven by fluctuating retail demand
- Effective cost control in key areas such as direct labour and consumables
- Manage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist direct reports in controlling levels of planned and unplanned absence and manage reductions of unacceptable levels
- Participate in and encourage suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus and team working
- The ability and knowledge to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of on-site systems (WMS training will be given)
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and support the coaching and development of your teams
- High level of attention to detail with experience of working with MS Office
- Understanding of customer requirements, process flows and interface messaging
- Excellent time management skills and problem-solving skills
- Proven knowledge surrounding 5S, CI and root cause analysis
