Our client based in Basildon are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager with a Forklift License to lead their warehouse team and operations. For this permanent role you will need to have previous experience within the Freight Logistics industry and a forward thinking mindset.
Duties for the Warehouse Manager role involves:-
- Management of all warehouse admin duties and the day to day operations in full compliance with Security, Dangerous Goods, AEO and all H&S / Legal requirements with a safety first culture
- Training, coaching and managing staff / administering performance reviews
- Negotiating and monitoring supplier contracts
- Preparing timely, accurate information and reporting as specified
- Identifying, developing, training, mentoring or recruiting staff whilst creating a more flexible workforce through the use of rota's, part-timers and agency staff to support the core team
- Ensuring a clean, properly organised, safe, healthy and professional facility
- Ensuring that any damages or losses are fully investigated.
- Ensuring that O/T and overheads are strictly controlled and not exceeded
- Managing work flow in the Warehouse and communicating to the BM/Team
- Lead implementation & continuous improvement / Six Sigma / 5S, being a champion on site
- Identify, agree and execute improvements throughout the warehouse
- Maintaining and developing relationships with the company's customer base
- Ensuring space and inventory location efficiency / Warehouse KPI Monitoring
- Managing stock accuracy via WMS and continuous audits
The Warehouse Manager will need:-
- A valid Forklift License and previous experience in a similar role
- Good listening and communication skills
- Ability to make innovative warehouse changes to achieve success
- Experience in warehousing best practice methods and planning
- Knowledge and experience of Ocean, Road and 3PL activities
