Role: Warehouse Manager
Salary: up to £45,000 (doe) per annum + benefits + pensions
Location: Telford
Responsibilities for Warehouse Manager:
- Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by implementing and maintaining effective stock control procedures, performing regular cycle counts, and reconciling any discrepancies.
- Supervise and provide direct line management to warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Optimize warehouse layout and processes to ensure efficient space utilization, ease of access, and timely order fulfillment.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and systematic execution of warehouse activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments, such as production, procurement, and customer service, to coordinate order fulfillment and resolve any operational issues.
- Utilise KPIs and other performance metrics to monitor and drive continuous improvement in warehouse productivity, accuracy, and overall performance.
- Maintain a safe and secure warehouse environment, ensuring compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse staff on best practices, safety standards.
- Strong knowledge in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience of 5+ years in warehouse management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory management principles.
- Solid experience in direct line management, including coaching, training, and performance management.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and MFGPro ERP software.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and meet KPI targets.
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Forklift certification and experience in operating other warehouse equipment is a plus.
