Reporting to Supply chain manager
Objectives
- The management and operation of all stores related activities
- To be fundamental in developing working culture
- To be responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Stores Operatives.
- To be responsible for working with both office and field-based staff, as well as operations management, to ensure the effective management, utilisation and distribution of stock, goods inwards control and management, and effective record keeping and reporting.
- Assists in the creation, implementation and management of staff working rotas to ensure comprehensive and effective resource
- Strategically manages the stores operation to help deliver the goals of the business
- Effectively manages, utilises and distributes stock and goods; ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting
- Optimises warehouse capacity using creative storage solutions, material handling processes and inventory control
- Overall responsibility and compliance of the Warehouse H&S, making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow safety protocol.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
- To carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms
- Ensures the inbound receipt of materials from clients and suppliers are undertaken in a timely manner to ensure optimum efficiency and reduce operational downtime
- To communicate plans Management
- To ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety policy
- Give regular feedback on team and individual performance
Key skills/experience
- Warehouse management experience is essential
- Proven experience of stock control within a busy warehouse environment
- Previous experience of goods in and despatch operations
- Experience using Warehouse Management System
- A understanding of health & safety
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Competent decision making
- FLT license (desirable)
- PC Literate in Word, Excel and Outlook
- Flexibility within the role and able to cover a variety of areas within the Warehouse
- Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated
