Job description
JOB PURPOSE
- Lead continuous improvement projects that attack factory losses in order to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide immediate line leadership to team members on shift, including shift engineers when necessary.
- Ensure safety, standards and service are enforced and maintained across the factory during the shift period.
- Lead and coach team members on shift to ensure they are enabled to deliver outstanding safety, standards and service.
- Engage and inspire team members in the PSL/factory targets by sharing the vision and priorities to help team members to understand how they add value.
- Support and embed the work of the lead technical operator, process improvement leader and technical skills trainer to ensure team members on shift are working to WCM methodology.
- Identify losses within shift and engage the relevant specialist or tools to close the gap.
- Consistently and flawlessly comply with factory operating system (FOS), ensuring all processes are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure safety policy, rules and procedures are understood and followed, and actively support a safety environment.
- This includes delivery drivers, Tank Farm checklists, risk assessments, inspections or audits, waste disposal and how to respond in emergency situations.
- To deliver the required safety, standards and service the Warehouse Leader role is required to focus a minimum of 70% of their time on the factory floor, through ‘standard Warehouse Leader work’ and carrying out the key accountabilities listed.
- Reduction of factory losses as directed by Cost Deployment.
- Team members on shift deliver safety, standards and service performance as per factory targets.
- Zero Lost Time Accidents.
- Zero First Aid Accidents.
- Zero ABC Quality Incidents.
- Root cause of performance losses identified, and appropriate countermeasures implemented.
- Lead Technical Operator competence continually developed supporting future career aspirations.
- Minimum education level: GCSEs, O-levels or equivalent in Maths, English and Science,
- Basic level of numeracy, literacy and computing skills.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, including leading a team desirable.
