Warehouse Group Leader Runcorn, England
Job description
Howdens are recruiting an experienced Group Leader to join our warehouse team at our manufacturing site in Runcorn, Cheshire.
Reporting to the Warehouse Business Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring targets are met with the adherence to the required quality, cost, delivery, people and health and safety metrics to support all of warehouse processes. You will ensure your team is well-directed and will lead them effectively through regular communication, training and development.
As a Group Leader, you will be the first line of leadership and therefore will need to engage with teams extensively in line with our culture and will have the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. The successful candidate will be a confident decision maker with a proven track record of leading successful teams in a warehouse environment.
The role:
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of your team members and providing feedback and effective training where required
- Maintaining safety within your area of responsibility, complying with safety controls through effective auditing, reviewing SOPs and RAs and conducting accident / near miss investigations when necessary
- Analysing KPI and OEE data to identify productivity issues and helping to form solutions and maximise opportunities for improvement
What you’ll need…
Do you have?
- In depth experience in all aspects of warehousing
- Experience using WMS (ideally SAP)
- A proven track record of influencing positive and encouraging team behaviour
- Strong problem solving, decision making and change management skills
- A professional attitude and can think proactively on your own initiative
- The ability to remain calm and under pressure in a deadline-focused environment and able to adapt to the changing demands of the business
Shift Pattern:
The warehouse team operates over a 3 shift rotation - days (6am-2pm), evenings (2pm-10pm) and nights (10pm-6am). We are open to discussing shift pattern during the recruitment process however, please state on your application which would be your preferred shift.
Full flexibility will be required to cover alternative shifts when required to ensure the needs of the business are met.
