Company Overview

● At Clydach Farm we’re on a mission to deliver products that pets, and pet parents love. We dream, build, make and distribute premium pet foods, all over the world.

● We have an exciting plan to take Clydach to the next level, with the introduction of new brands in our portfolio and the expansion of our distribution and production facilities.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing local business. You have a critical role in ensuring our customers have the products they want, when they need it. This role is essential to process and prepare customer orders, and is the heart-beat of our company – and you’ll ensure it runs smoothly and effectively.

The company is rapidly developing and expanding and as part of this, we will be moving to larger warehouse premises and opening a second site. This role is great for you, either if you’re looking for part-time hours, or looking for a role to develop and grow with. For the right candidate, there is lots of room for progress and development – a place where effort truly gets rewarded.

Responsibilities

Pick, Pack & Despatch

● Picking, packing and despaching orders to our customers – you will be responsible for various orders – from a single pack of treats by post, a box of dog food directly by courier, or pallets for full lorry load to supermarkets

● Using our online order management system to prioritise and prepare orders for picking

● Accurately and carefully pick all items, in line with pick sheets

● Pack items with care, using correct formats of external packaging and boxes

● Correctly generate shipping labels, using the right couriers and delivery partners

Receiving

● Safely unload inbound stock, from a mixture of parcel drops, single pallets (LTL) or full trailers (FTL)

● Lift and move boxes (often 25-30kgs), and follow the put-away process to ensure products are in-stock ready for picking

● Relocating products using forklifts (forklift licence required), or using pump trucks and power pallet trucks

General

● You will be responsible for your zone, ensuring you keep it clean and tidy, following our standards for cleanliness and hygiene

● Proactive in helping flag shortages of products, despatch material or packaging, escalating to your colleagues so it can be reordered and replenished

● Overcommunicate with your colleagues in various communication channels, including group chats and emails

Experience & Skills Required

  • Strong computer skills, operating various despatch and label generation software
  • Physical fitness, able to lift up to 30kg easily and on a regular basis
  • Strong attention to detail when; picking orders, inputting stock or during stock takes
  • Able to work at pace, meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • You have a positive attitude and a can-do approach to your work
  • You’re not afraid to get stuck in; you roll up your sleeves and do what needs to be done
  • When faced with a problem, you demonstrate resourcefulness and actively seek solutions, rather than expecting someone to solve it for you
  • You will need to be flexible on your days and hours in order to cover your colleagues for company shows and events, but also for holidays and sick leave, to ensure we have a smooth and consistent operation
  • Forklift licence (otherwise using safely using pallet pump trucks and power pallet trucks). Forklift training and qualification will be provided by us after 3 months

What Success Looks Like

● All orders despatched on time

● All picks are accurate and packed in full

● Meet SLA of pallets/parcels packed per hour targets

● Parcels and pallets packed in-line with strict quality standards

● Solid communication and escalation of issues to colleagues and team leader
