About the Role
You will need to work well within the team, and be able to use your own initiative.
This role is for Saturdays and Sundays 9.5 hours per week working alternate shifts.
Week 1: Saturday 7.45am - 1.00pm Sunday 1.00pm - 5.00pm
Week 2: Saturday 1.00pm - 5.00pm Sunday 7.45am - 1.00pm.
Main duties:
- Provide weekend Reception cover for the Walk in Centre.
- Support all clinical and Admin staff with general tasks as requested.
- Independently greet patients via the intercom, triaging the patient in order to identify those with Cov-19 symptoms. These patients require further triaging to assess urgency and appropriacy and to determine where the patient should wait
- Monitor patient queues, dealing with patient queries, collection of blood forms, urine samples, private letters, deliveries, couriers etc. You will be required to deal with frustrated and angry patients in a calm, empathetic and courteous manner.
- Opening up the surgery – you will be responsible for de-activating the alarm, un-locking the main doors and follow check-list of duties in the morning
- Closing down the surgery, locking main doors/windows, ensuring side doors are closed, switching off computers/fans/heaters, changing door names, emptying shredding bins and tidying reception waiting area in preparation for the next day.

About Us
We are a GP practice and Walk in Centre located in Bedford with 16500 registered patients. We are a large Practice with enthusiastic friendly staff in our team.
