Job description
A (Waiter/Waitress, or Restaurant Server) is responsible for ensuring guests have a positive experience while exhibiting excellent customer service. The General Assistant duties include greeting guests and taking their orders, communicating with team members both in front of the house and the chefs in the kitchen about orders.
1. Tables are set up with the proper linen, silverware, glassware, and/or china.
2. Guests are greeted and escorted to their designated table(s).
3. The menu is fully understood, and a detailed knowledge or explanation is offered regarding portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies.
4. A thorough understanding of the drinks available to guests and how these are prepared and served (both hot and cold).
5. A good understanding of any promotion(s) or day's specials is known.
6. Assisting guests with menu recommendations upon request.
7. An accurate food and drink(s) order(s) is taken, using an order pad and then inserting these into the POS ordering system (or directly using the iPads supplied).
8. Orders are promptly communicated to the Kitchen.
9. The food and beverage(s) are served correctly using the indicated silverware, glassware, and/or china.
10. Meu items are upsold offering a better guest experience.
11. Checks/bills are checked and confirmed before handing to guests for payment or to obtain a signature for room postage and these are closed off properly.
12. Clearing and cleaning of tables by removing any dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to the appropriate cleaning area.
13. Excellent customer service is provided to guests.
14. Any set up is correctly done for Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner, Coffee/Tea, Room Service, Etc.
15. Any assistance to other departments has been met such as:
a. Helping with check ins and check outs, mainly help with luggage
b. Helping move items for Housekeeping (zbed(s), cot(s), etc.)
c. Refilling the fire logs chest in main entrance hall
d. Any other needs to assist with the smooth running of the hotel operations
16. A pleasant, positive, and professional image is always projected.
17. The needs and expectations of all Guests have been managed.
18. All guest order has been delivered in a timely manner.
19. To ensure a thorough knowledge of all products both food and beverage within your department.
20. The Italian gardens have been checked (parasols down if windy, cushions and parasol in if wet)
21. Glasshouse is closed down if not in use for the day turning off lights & heaters
22. Cutlery is polished
23. Tidy crockery once KP is finished
24. Polish remainder of cutlery
25. Clean serving trays, granite boards and candlestick holders
26. Set up plates for breakfast chef (cereal & large middles on top, UFOs & large mains in pass cabinet)
27. Ensure cloths are being washed in cottage, put in dryer in garage 2 once finished
28. Cloth and iron tables
29. Set tables for breakfast
30. Ensure furniture cupboard is tidy
5.6 weeks holiday per year

Profile description
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
2. Ability to communicate freely in the local language.
3. Previous experience in 5 stars environment is required
4. Open and friendly with a desire to deliver exceptional Guest experience
5. Good attention to details and accuracy
6. A team player, contributing positively to team performance.
7. Excellent time management skills with the ability to priorities workload
