Job description
About the role
Could you use your Yoga practice to support people making positive changes to their substance use, helping them to maintain physical and mental well-being?
Enable is a Substance Misuse Service which is run in partnership with the NHS & Humankind. The team operates from 2 sites in Enfield to provide a wide range of substance misuse services to local residents, including substitute prescribing, community detox, criminal justice interventions, community care assessments, a group work programme, and primary health care.
We would love to involve a volunteer who is qualified in yoga to lead yoga sessions at our Edmonton site, once a week or every other week, helping some of the most vulnerable members of society.
Details of the role:
The sessions could be on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday - we aim to work around volunteers’ availability - 1-1.5 hours each week or each fortnight. We ask that people anticipate being able to volunteer for 6 months or more.
Training:
Volunteers have access to Humankind’s training platform, Learningkind, and will be asked to complete a number of training modules within their first 3 months, many of these are e-learning modules. One session on Safeguarding is delivered by trainers via Zoom, and is 6 hours (with breaks) – there are a range of dates but please do keep this in mind.
We would love you to bring to this role:
Honest: we are open and realistic, building trusted relationships in which we challenge, collaborate and change.
Committed: we are passionate about being the best that we can be, and we do this by keeping people at the heart of everything that we do.
Inventive: we are ambitious, drawing together skills and resources to innovate and adapt in determined pursuit of our mission.
