Job description
We have a 93-year-old veteran who is a portrait painter and a writer with 2 books published. In the past, he was a Chief of Chemistry for a business, and after that, a lecturer at the London Business School. In other words, our Member has lots of experiences to share.
Born in London, he joined the Royal Air Force RAF Melksham in Wiltshire where he was a Technical Training Officer, training in electronics.
Our veteran would like to meet a male who is interested in motor bike and antique clocks restoration, woodturning and reading, to talk about national and international affairs and accompany him and his dog on short walks in his local area.
Are you a friendly male who is available for weekly visits on either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm to befriend our Member? If yes, this may be the volunteer opportunity for you.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and understand the importance of relationship boundaries. The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans. You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering, and your public transport/petrol will be on us.
