Media and Digital Art Coordinator Voluntary Role:
Caius House are looking for media and digital art coordinators, who have a passion for digital art design and curating digital materials/resources. The role will focus on the creation of quality digital assets, video, and images.
You will be experienced in creating digital assets and have a real interest in videography and photography and be able to create short form video content. You may well have a background in digital design, but we are seeking a creative individual, who is comfortable manoeuvring across key social media channels.
Working as part of a small team, this role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to art create
The role involves working on a range of projects, ensuring that all content is engaging, relevant and on-brand, delivering our key marketing and communications messages to our stakeholders.
You will be creating content across all our channels, not only generating content based on a content calendar, but also engaging with our followers, partners, and other key stakeholders to generate trust and fuel more engagement in return.
You will be the driving force behind promoting our engaging and bespoke youth offer and supporting us in reaching new audiences and youth who would benefit from our programmes! You are creative, encouraging our youth to become more technically savvy- you understand social media content, ads and how to grow engagement and social presence.
You will be working closely with our social media team, wider team and youth who will support you in developing content and ideas.
You will also support by:
· Sharing knowledge of how the different social media channels work, the tools to manage them and strategies and tactics to achieve high engagement and interaction levels
· Understanding of image quality fundamentals and basic image editing skills (using a program such as Canva)
· Being organised, reliable, resourceful, proactive and with a ‘can-do’ attitude!
· Be able to create media and digital art for our social media platforms and more
· Be a creative thinker with a passion for great social content and the ability to follow a brand's tone of voice
· Having Image and/or video editing skills with a good eye for excellent social media graphic design.
· Having some knowledge of the charity/fundraising sector.
· Upskilling our youth and inspiring them to curate and design digital art
· Working closely with our wider team, youth and community and communicating effectively
· You will be working as part of a team to provide safe, creative, and appropriate challenging activities for our youth
· You will need to ensure that the young people are always kept safe by following Caius House policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, risk assessment and other health and safety issues
- Being a positive and committed contribution to existing staff teams
- Providing a safe and welcoming environment for all who attend our provision
- Being a positive representation of Caius House
- Contributing by providing children and young people with a fun and stimulating environment, providing valuable life lessons, and promoting positive personal development
We aim to provide volunteers a meaningful experience so that you can progress into new roles and employment, so full training and supervision is provided. We will also be upskilling our volunteers on safeguarding, health and safety, youth work, session facilitation and more. In addition to this support all our volunteers will be provided with a ‘work buddy’, who will assist you every step of the way, ensuring that the highest standards of youth work are met and maintained during your time with us.
Particularly useful for individuals wanting to get into social media/partnerships management with little or no experience- Caius House provides the perfect learning/training environment for all who are interested in getting into youth work. We are an open and inclusive team and are happy to adjust where we can. You do not have to have a formal qualification to volunteer for our media positions (as we offer extensive training), however we are looking for the following from our volunteers:
Essential:
· Willingness to undergo a DBS check (formerly CRB)
· A minimum commitment of 3 sessions per year
· Willingness to undergo training and attend occasional team meetings
· Experience of interacting with young people between the ages of 8 – 21
· Be able to communicate effectively with young people and colleagues, no matter their background, race, faith, gender, ability etc.
Desirable:
· Good organisational skills attention to detail and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Display flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to multitask
· Present professionally in a way that is a positively reflects the expectations of Caius House
· The ability to be reliable, non-judgemental and display patience and good communication skills
· Ability to work well in a team and take direction from co-workers
· An understanding of working with people with disabilities is preferable but not essential - the main thing is to be open to learn
· The venue is very accessible. - Volunteers are needed mainly Monday-Friday, but we offer flexibility on what this might look like for individuals
