Job description
For many children and young people living in foster care can be unsettling. By volunteering as an Independent Visitor, you will be making a difference to a child/young person in foster care.
Visits happen out of school hours usually at weekends or after 4pm during the week.
We will train you for the role and have ongoing training opportunities once you are a volunteer with us.
Things to consider when applying
- your 2 referees’ do not need to be previous employers, we accept character references from people that have known you for 2 years or more (none family members)
- applicants need to be 18 years or older
- the volunteering happens out of school hours and therefore you need to be free to volunteer at weekends.
- the role requires commitment of 2 years with 1 visit per month to ensure stability for the Child or Young Person.
- please ensure you complete the Personal Statement section on the application form as this forms part of the shortlisting process.
