About the Role
As the Online Visual Merchandiser, your primary responsibility is to ensure accurate and engaging content and imagery for all products featured on the Pets at Home website. Your role plays a vital part in creating an exceptional online experience for our customers, maximizing conversion rates and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the product pipeline to track and plan the launch of new products.
- Create product titles according to Pets at Home guidelines, optimized for product lister pages, on-site search engine, and off-site search engine SEO.
- Develop key features and benefits for each product, ensuring clear communication of product value at a glance.
- Transform raw product data into compelling Long Descriptions, written using the Pets at Home tone of voice and fully optimized for SEO.
- Deliver product page content in accordance with best practice user experience standards, Pets at Home brand guidelines, and merchandising principles.
- Coordinate the timely launch of new products and product reloads based on range review timings and Good/Better/Best guidelines.
- Benchmark other online retailers to identify emerging online merchandising trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Brief the in-house studio on image requirements for own brand products, ensuring the capture of all features and benefits.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including channel managers and executives, to capture business requirements for campaign launches.
- Ensure all imagery meets the Pets at Home Image Guidelines.
- Accurately categorize new product lines and reloads to enhance customer navigation and searchability.
- Optimize site search keywords in collaboration with our agency.
- Benchmark other online retailers to define appropriate filter options for each department within left-hand navigation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Creative mindset with a proven ability to create engaging content using detailed product information.
- Copywriting experience and strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ability to identify commercial opportunities and prioritize workload effectively.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to report on consumer behavior and user interaction.
- Strong Excel skills to interpret, manipulate, and showcase detailed data.
- Effective communication skills both within and outside the organization.
- Enthusiasm for learning from others and seeking help across the business to develop oneself and the role.
- Previous experience in online merchandising is required.
- Familiarity with GA360, ContentSquare, and On-Site Search/Merchandising tools is beneficial (training can be provided).
