Cheltenham welcomes around 2 million visitors per year. It is a popular destination for shopping, food and drink, events, sightseeing, and green spaces. Events such as Cheltenham Races and Cheltenham Festivals attract thousands of visitors
Marketing Cheltenham is the official Destination Marketing Organisation for Cheltenham. We love sharing what’s on, where to go and what to do, and we’re looking for someone to join our team on a casual basis as a tourist information assistant to help us spread the word even further.
The Cheltenham Pod is a pop-up space in the heart of the town centre. It features a large town centre map and monthly posters that highlight what’s on each month across the town and details of local initiatives and events. We are looking to recruit a small team to be based in the Pod on weekends and during major events in the town to provide tourist information and help visitors find their way around. We are looking for people who are excellent at customer service and capable of thinking on their feet to provide the best information for the public. No two days will be the same.

About the role…
- To provide a friendly welcome to visitors to the Pod, providing practical information including directions as well as tourist advice
- To offer information on places of interest, travel and facilities in Cheltenham and the surrounding area
- To keep information material in the Pod up to date and well presented
Closing date for the role - Sunday 2nd April at Midnight.
Interview Dates - Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th April
To be successful you will need…
- To have a sound knowledge of local tourist attractions and facilities
- Previous customer service experience
- To be passionate about promoting Cheltenham
- A motivated and customer focused approach to work
- To be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays.
