Job description

We are looking to recruit 2 Visitor Experience Assistants to join our team based at our London site. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis on an annualised contract working 1092 hours per year and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £13,117.17 per annum

The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Our purpose is to share the RAF story, past, present and future - using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inform and inspire. Our Vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story – the people who shape it and its place in our lives.

Purpose of the Visitor Experience Assistant role is to:

Delivery of an exceptional visitor experience, providing consistently high standards of customer care whilst actively supporting the strategic priorities of the Museum, especially in relation to interpreting the story of the RAF and increasing income generation.

Key responsibilities of our Visitor Experience Assistant include:

  • Providing a warm welcome to our visitors.
  • Enhancing every visitor’s experience at the Museum through your engagement with them and your problem-solving skills.
  • Promoting museum services to visitors.
  • Supporting the Museums Commercial activities.
  • Providing a safe and secure experience for everyone.
  • Ensuring that the Museums vision to inspire everyone with the RAF story - the people who shape it and it’s place in our lives, is central to what we do.

What we are looking for in our Visitor Experience Assistant:

  • Up to date First Aid qualification or willingness and ability to hold a First Aid qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience in customer-focused environment.
  • A good level of general education.
  • Good level of computer literacy and IT skills including Microsoft Office software.
