Title and Summary
Vice President, Transit Acceptance Product Management
In partnership with regional Merchant and Acceptance teams and cross-functional partners around the globe, Global Acceptance Solutions works to expand merchant acceptance and help merchants and acquirers grow their businesses through Acceptance solutions and programs. At its essence, building acceptance is about driving the secular shift from cash to electronic payments, with the promise of giving consumers the best payment experience – one that’s fast, convenient and secure.

The Transit Acceptance Product Management VP will build Mastercard’s innovative product portfolio for transit partners, embed Mastercard payment solutions within the transit ecosystem, and secure the role that Mastercard’s card network will play in public transit and car commerce as these areas evolve in the years and decades to come. With effective leadership across a team of product managers and many cross-functional stakeholders, this individual will identify, prioritize, and execute product development initiatives that expand Mastercard acceptance in the transit space with new use cases, optimize transaction performance across our existing footprint, and create a step change in the incremental transactions Mastercard touches.

Responsibilities
  • Build and execute on Mastercard’s acceptance product strategy in the transit space, prioritizing existing needs of customers and channel partners, as well as the development of novel solutions that strengthen Mastercard’s position in the car commerce and public transit space
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of product managers to meet Transit Acceptance objectives
  • Provide transit ecosystem subject matter expertise, identifying product opportunities and informing product development priorities
  • Establish and oversee a global transit taskforce, engaging internal product teams and business owners, as well as regional market-facing teams and customers around the world to identify ecosystem needs
  • Develop new innovative transit solutions that can scale and secure Mastercard’s role in the transit ecosystem
  • Oversee the modernization of network rules to support critical transit use cases and
  • Deliver on projects in partnership with Franchise to ensure Mastercard’s network rules meets the evolving needs of stakeholders (customers, channel partners, transit authorities, OEMs) in the mobility space
  • Own and evolve transit acceptance priorities and project pipeline, ensuring delivery of relevant acceptance solutions and GTM assets which commercial teams use to create value and drive influence with transit vertical customers and partners
  • Maintain partnerships with senior regional stakeholders to ensure alignment with global and regional transit product priorities

  • History of commercializing solutions at scale for transit stakeholders (e.g. transit authorities, Mastercard customers, channel partners, OEMs, mobile wallet providers, etc.)
  • Decision making and leadership skills including presenting to senior management
  • Innovation mindset and market driven analysis to build the best offering
  • Track record of strong people management
  • Superior communications, presentation and interpersonal skills
