Position Overview
The Vice President/Principal of StepStone Real Estate in London will play a critical role in the sourcing, underwriting and asset management of real estate investments across StepStone's commingled funds and discretionary accounts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Market coverage and origination capabilities with particular focus on Germany and the Nordics
- Conduct investment real estate investment due diligence including property, market, manager, legal and structural factors
- Oversee development of detailed financial underwriting models reflecting the results of due diligence
- Participate in document negotiation, structuring and documentation of investments with internal and external legal support
- Prepare and present detailed investment committee memoranda that document key findings, recommendations, risks and merits of investment opportunities
- Present new and existing investment opportunities to internal and external audiences
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience
- 8+ years of experience in real estate investment and/or capital markets roles
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Track record of managing real estate private equity transactions
- Developed investment judgment with demonstrable understanding of risk/reward
- Strong client communication skill and experience
- Exceptional business writing with experience preparing investment committee memos
- Strong financial modeling skills (capital structures and cash flow waterfalls)
