Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, Marketing Mattress Firm will lead strategic initiatives and digital strategy, instigate and integrate innovative tests, and manage execution of campaigns. This driven and experienced marketer will collaborate with the Mattress Firm client team and the dedicated cross-functional team to engage the client, align program strategy with overall client goals, grow new accounts, and increase card use. Position has one direct report and reports to the VP Marketing Leader also dedicated to Mattress Firm. Mattress Firm is a nationwide retailer with 2,400+ retail outlets, and is one of the top 5 partner programs in Home and Auto and in the top 15 in Synchrony.

Essential Responsibilities:
Partner with the client and the Synchrony client team to lead, develop, and implement new strategic marketing initiatives
Partner with the client’s digital teams to optimally integrate financing into their website experience and all other digital marketing channels.
Manage and develop client marketing professionals.
Establish and develop key relationships at partner organization.
Understand and incorporate the client's key business objectives, strategic vision, and marketing calendar into the planning process and to achieve objectives.
Optimize return on contractual marketing spend and pursue additional funds to meet growth goals. Monthly forecast the overall budget and adjust as necessary.
Identify portfolio segments to target for partner and business gain; test and implement programs to grow these segments.
Utilize SYF consumer and competitive analysis to develop a strong, simple, and differentiated consumer value proposition.
Collaborate with Synchrony sales, risk, finance, credit, digital, and operations teams to integrate strategies and drive overall results.
Utilize analytical tools to optimize specific marketing investments to efficiently grow the business. Partner with the analytics team and the client to share data, set up test and control, and report results.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 15 years of marketing experience
A minimum of 8+ years of marketing experience in credit card or financial services to include (can be concurrent):
5 years of growth marketing leadership with partnership model, while leading consumer-facing programs and products, and with developing and delivering financial services products via digital channels
Client/ Account Management experience
Direct marketing experience with both acquisition and loyalty/lifecycle channels.
Strong project management experience, organized, and detail oriented
Experience managing creative agencies and marketing service suppliers
Ability to travel as needed (~15%)
Desired Characteristics:
Advanced degree (MS, MBA).
Ability to work across the client organization and align resources and focus
Promotional financing strategy and management experience
People leadership experience within a client marketing team
Strong problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate situations using multiple sources of information. Strong integrator.
Ability to identify innovative growth opportunities
Skilled at using data to drive business decisions; experience working with client data-share initiatives desirable
Ability to diagnose and stop work processes with low ROI as well as elevate high ROI initiatives
Strong financial acumen
Grade/Level: 13
The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
