Vice President – Global IT PMO

As a proven leader with global scope, you will be responsible for creating and aligning a global IT PMO structure. You will manage a team of project management professionals to design and develop best practices, processes, and project management policies to ensure IT projects align with organizational priorities, and the Gallagher Bassett business and IT strategies. You will be a key member of the IT leadership team in proactively integrating multiple functions and activities, as well as proactively identifying and driving decision making and resolution of program related matters.
YOUR IMPACT
You will:
- Build, grow, and manage the Gallagher Bassett IT Program Management Office (PMO).
- Provide senior level oversight of all programs, guiding Project Managers as needed
- Utilize your deep background and leadership in Portfolio, Program & Project management
- Oversee and mentor the professional development of PMO members
- Achieve better IT delivery quality and consistency of projects across the organization by developing and maintaining project management methodologies, standards, and tools
- Use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes
- Set KPIs; manage project measurement and status in the form of executive briefings, project update meetings, and written reports
- Present solutions to problems through risk management and contingency planning
- Deliver presentations of solutions and options to executive management
- Apply consistent, independent judgment in matters of significance
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of related project management experience, application development experience
- Prior experience having built a PMO from inception to completion.
- Experience having implemented an IT domain.
- Proven experience leading multiple large initiatives and project plans to a successful conclusion in a matrixed environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others - both internal and external clients and peers.
- Excel in a fast-paced, high demand environment.
- Ability to assess and identify scope creep and bring a request back on track.
- Excellent track record of driving process improvements and delivering a high performance environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels of an organization.
- Respected leader with excellent negotiation skills.
- Willingness/Ability to "roll up their sleeves" when needed.
- Examples of experience being a strong strategic thinker/visionary.
Preferred:
- 10 or more years in a commercial property & casualty insurance environment
- Management consulting experience in PMO
- MBA degree
