Job Title: Theatre Technician
Salary: £22,000
Location: Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time 40 hours per week plus participation in the 'on-call' rota (Currently 1:5 weekends)
If you are motivated to provide high quality care to cats and dogs, we have a vacancy for a full time Theatre Technician. You should be passionate, dedicated and strive to maintain the highest clinical and professional standards. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, although experience working with animals is beneficial, it is not essential as formal training will be provided.
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and sterilising of surgical kits for procedures
- Cleaning and turning theatres around between procedures
- Assisting in theatre when required
- Restocking consumables
- Maintaining clinical standards
- Liaising with surgical nursing team
- Assisting other departments when required.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- Experience of working with animals within a professional or personal capacity
- Ability to work under pressure and stay calm
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner
- Good time management skills
- Working within a busy team and can work on own initiative
- Methodical approach to working.
- Passion for the welfare of animals.
- Willingness to be part of and support the wider team
- Great satisfaction in achieving high standards of cleanliness.

About us
We are a true multidisciplinary referral only hospital with departments in orthopaedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, neurology, internal medicine, oncology, anaesthesia and diagnostic imaging. Each of the clinical disciplines is staffed to European Diplomate or RCVS Specialist standards. The hospital is well equipped and provides excellent inpatient facilities with qualified RVNs and veterinary interns on-site 24/7. Imaging includes computed radiography, fluoroscopy (with digital subtraction and road-mapping), ultrasonography and on-site MRI and CT.
