We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, driven and enthusiastic team player to manage and coordinate the operation of our canine kennel facility and to support our team of higher education academic staff in the delivery of our canine undergraduate programmes.
This is a key role within the team as you will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures to ensure that our kennels continue to reflect high professional standards and for managing the welfare of the dogs in our care. Our kennels provide a home during the day for dogs of Reaseheath staff and you will be expected to liaise with colleagues to coordinate kennel boarding. You will also supervise students and staff in kennel operations and canine handling and coordinate access to dogs to support canine practical’s.
A key part of this role is the planning and delivery of practical canine handling, behaviour modification and training sessions to our undergraduate Canine students so you should be a confident communicator with some experience of canine training and be keen to share and develop these skills in others.
You should be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in a canine-related subject and ideally a canine behaviour/training qualification and membership of an appropriate professional body. You should have demonstrable experience of working with canines, preferably within a kennel boarding environment and be confident in handling all breeds of dogs and canine behaviour traits. Good organisation and planning skills are essential, as is an ability to work unsupervised and being prepared to work outside, whatever the weather!
