Registered Veterinary Nurse
Miramar Vets, Sheringham
Salary up to £31,000 FTE depending on experience plus benefits
We are looking for another Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our brilliant and experienced team here at Miramar Vets. No two days are the same and your responsibilities will include nurse clinics, theatre shifts, kennel shifts including lab testing, and maintenance. We see a really interesting mix of cases, with a really good proportion of our clients insured, making investigations or referrals more feasible options.
Work life balance that works for you
Do you want to work for a practice that puts colleague well-being and happiness as a priority? Miramar has worked hard to create fair and manageable shift patterns, giving clinicians plenty of time for case workups, admin, telephone calls, as well as a very important rest! This is alongside accommodating each individual's personal and professional needs and requirements to create a good work-life balance for all and treat everyone as an individual.
Ideally, this is a part time role is working 20 hours per week, Monday's & Tuesday's but we are happy to be flexible for the right candidate. You will work on a rota basis with shifts between 8 am – 6:30 pm, with occasional cover on Saturday mornings in the event of holidays and sickness. There are no OOH responsibilities, but there will be a weekly, paid inpatient duty for stable patients that we deem safe to keep overnight, although this is uncommon. A neighbouring hospital covers our OOH and weekend inpatients.
Our practice
Our premises are fresh and new, with large consulting rooms, large waiting areas with separate cat, dog and nurse appointment areas, and a big emphasis on fear-free and cat-friendly principles throughout the team. We are always updating and refreshing equipment and are keen to hear of any new pieces of kit people want to champion within the practice. All of our team are invested in providing the very best level of care to each patient that walks in the door, and because of this, we have a very loyal and friendly client base.
The practice is a short walk away from the seafront, on the beautiful North Norfolk coast, and there is nothing better on a hot summer’s day than a stroll down to the sea on your lunch break, and ice creams all around for the team! We regularly hold 'family lunches' where we get food in for everyone from one of the local eateries, as well as 'Costa runs' to keep everyone caffeinated on those busier days.
Join our experienced and collaborative team
Support to all team members is a really important ethos we all maintain, and regular nursing meetings are held by our fantastic Head Nurse Lucy to discuss ongoing clinical and non-clinical topics. Lucy is also our Wellbeing Champion, and regularly has ideas for ways to look after our mental and physical health. She has even organised massages for the team in the past, which were held in the practice. You will also have the support of our very experienced Practice Manager
We have vet certificate holders in dentistry and surgery, as well as nurses undergoing extra qualifications in their chosen areas of interest. You will be supported by a team of 4 other registered veterinary nurses, 1 student veterinary nurse, 1 animal nursing assistant and a host of wonderful support staff, as well as the vet team.
