The role
Medivet have an opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join the multi-vet team at our Scunthorpe practice.
In this role you will have the freedom to follow your cases as there is a large scope to generate a dedicated client base and access to the team at the dedicated 24 hour centre at Swanland hospital, with a supporting ambulance driving service.
Our Veterinary Surgeons are at the front line of delivering exceptional care and play an integral part of each one of our sites. From routine health checks to advanced surgeries, you’ll work directly with clients and their pets to offer care that’s bespoke to them.

Salary package of up to £55,000 PA, including:

We can support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Key accountabilities
Ensure all team members provide quality and ethical care to all clients and their pets/livestock.- Assess and examine and diagnose patients’ medical issues.
- Perform surgery, dress and treat wounds.
- Perform diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.
- Prescribe medication.
- Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.
- Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices for pets/livestock.
- Euthanise patients.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
Skills and experience
Registered with the RCVS.- Qualified MRCVS.
- Commitment to animal welfare.
- Ability to keep on top of practise protocols and procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills.
Branch
Scunthorpe is a central large branch practice with four consult rooms, one surgical theatre, digital x-ray room, large prep area, ultrasound, laproscopic equipment and in house blood machines.
The team currently consists of a lead vet and five vet surgeons, supported by four RVNs and an client care assistant.
