Veterinary Receptionist
Job description
We are looking for a part time, evening receptionist to cover a very busy and demanding role in a veterinary practice reception. You will join our dedicated, friendly team and become an integral part of making sure all our clients and patients receive the best care. Although this job is set within a veterinary practice and a love of animals is important, we are looking for candidates with a customer care background, ideally experience in a customer facing role.
The role:
Reception is the hub of our practice and the first and last thing a client will see. We are looking for someone who is client focused and able to give the very best service in a fast paced environment whilst prioritising and managing an ever changing workload. The position will be 3-4 weekday evenings and Saturdays on a rota basis. Hours are negotiable for the right candidate.
Daily tasks involve
- Meeting and greeting clients
- Dealing with customer queries and complaints
- Answering multiple incoming call lines
- Scheduling new and follow up consultations
- Set up and manage client files
- Taking payments & daily cashing up
- General reception duties inc filing, photocopying and franking
- Sales (practice health plan, food, toys & treats)
- Liaise with vets, nurses and other practice staff
- Ordering stock
- General cleaning/tidying of reception area
Experience:
Reception/switchboard experience would ideally be required and some experience in a similar environment would be advantageous however is not essential as training and support will be provided. Progression and further training will be supported and funded for the right candidate. An upbeat and can do attitude is essential as well as empathy for clients who may be experiencing many different emotions. The role can be both physically and emotionally challenging but is a great opportunity for someone who loves to interact with the public and enjoys the satisfaction of knowing they've really made a difference to people's lives.

Salary: £7.49-£10.42 per hour
