Veterinary Receptionist

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our inclusive team here at Optivet Referrals.

Optivet Referrals is an independent specialist referral hospital, with specialists in ophthalmology, surgery, internal medicine and anaesthesia. We aim to provide exceptional clinical and customer care in all disciplines. Based in Havant, Hampshire, our practice has the latest equipment and facilities to help provide the essential care our patients need.

We are aligned around a set of core values which help us to deliver outstanding care to our patients and their owners. We are also currently undergoing an investor in the environment accreditation to help reduce our carbon usage.

About the role

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, The working pattern is:

  • Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday - 09:30 - 18:30
  • Saturday - 09:00 - 17:30

The role consists of answering calls, booking appointments, greeting clients, liaising with the team, processing payments and accurately recording information.

About you

To succeed in this role, you must be dynamic, well organised with exceptional attention to detail. You must be able to show empathy and work in a fast-paced environment, whilst remaining calm and demonstrating exemplary team-working skills.

Above all, you must be passionate about providing a high standard and quality of care to our patients and clients.

In addition:

  • Proven strong and effective verbal communication techniques both on the telephone and face to-face.
  • Demonstrates a professional level of English language when sending out written communication.
  • Understand the ethical requirements of a referral veterinary practice.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience in a similar role is preferable but not essential
