Job description

Independent small animal practice seeks hard working and compassionate veterinary surgeon.

The role: A full-time position, 40hrs per week over 4 days, 9am-7pm. Includes paid lunch break.
A part-time position may be available with hours being negotiable.
1:4 Saturdays 9am-4.30pm. No Sundays or Bank Holidays. No OOH or on call.
5.6 weeks annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
Accommodation may also be provided as required.
Salary up to £65,000, depending on experience.

The role is varied and rota allows for consults and operating days. No sole charge is required.

About us: We are a busy RCVS tier 2 accredited practice, with a well established client base, being an independent practice for over 40 years.
Our ethos is to provide a high standard of care which is affordable and animal welfare focused, as we work closely with local animal rescues/charities.
Facilities include:
● Designated cat and dog wards, with separate theatres and dental suites. Cat ward has been newly refurbished with Casco kennels (applied for ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic).
● Two spacious consultation rooms.
● Well equipped theatres, piped gas, plus multiparameter machines and doppler.
● Digital radiography and ultrasound machine.
● Tonometry.
● In-house laboratory.
● Small furry facilities including table-top dental gag and burrs.
● Air-conditioning.
● Comfortable staff room.
● On-site parking for vets.

Our team consists of 4 full-time Veterinary Surgeons, 4 RVNs, 1 SVN, 2 VCA's, and supportive receptionists and PM. We take pride in our amazing teamwork, utilise everyone's skills to their full potential and value the importance of every member of staff.

About the candidate:

● Good timekeeping and able to work in a fast paced environment.
● Excellent communication and client facing skills.
● Good level of experience with medicine and surgical cases, being competent with routine procedures in particular.
● Minimum 1 year UK experience.
● Good team player with positive attitude.
● Keen to develop skills in area of interest.
● Experience with ultrasonagraphy or cardiology beneficial.
