Find excellence with us
You were born to provide brilliant animal care and we do that by empowering brilliant people like you. Join the IVC Evidensia Graduate Academy 2023 and find the very best start to your veterinary career.
About us
Any Vet joining us will greatly appreciate the extent of support and friendly working atmosphere generated for all employees that is the corner stone of Yorkshire Vets, from the outset. Providing that support we have a multi-skilled team of 14 Vets with certificate holders in Surgery and Ophthalmology along with visiting specialists, those studying for further certificates and experienced “GP” vets! We have an excellent nursing team and are a VN training practice. Our Admin, Reception and Animal Care Assistants all love working here too and are equally supportive as your professional colleagues. We are a multi-site practice with a PSS Tier 3 hospital at the core and 5 branch surgeries with operating facilities.
Our Hospital is very well equipped with diagnostic equipment and instruments including dental x ray. We have 3 operating rooms along with an ultrasound/endoscopy room, x-ray and have separate dog, cat and isolation kennel wards. Our night and cover is done in-house by our dedicated Night Vet team so you will not be required to work OOH shifts but can work alongside them to further your experience. We encourage all staff to participate in CPD and pass on new found skills and knowledge to the rest of us via our internal Clinical Club. Our working hours are varied and flexible so you gain experience in all aspects of our Practice. You won’t be expected to work on your own until both you and us are confident that’s appropriate. We’re moving towards a 1:6 weekend rota where you will work 1 full Saturday and Sunday (8:30-4) and 1 Saturday morning (8:30-12) every 6 weeks. You will get 2 days off when you work the full weekend to create a 4-day long weekend break.
About the role
Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 5 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition, you may also be required to participate in a weekend rota for which you will get time off in lieu.
We all remember what it was like to be “the new graduate” and make it a point of principle to help you get going. We’ve been running New Graduate programs successfully for 7 years. We’re open and honest with each other and interact socially away from work almost as much as we do professionally.
Relocation Package of up to £2000 and accommodation available
