Job Title: Vehicle Inspector
Department: Group Resources – Import Centre
Responsible to: Production Manager - Sheerness
Location: Import Centre - Sheerness
Hours of work: 38.75hrs per week
Job Purpose
Vehicle Inspector – to carry out visual inspections of new vehicles arriving at the Import Centre. Raise reports and liaise with Office Manager to process the vehicles.
Carry out detailed inspections on returned company/ fleet vehicles and raising reports for the Office.
Inspect and report damages found in the compound.
Support the Logistic team as and when requested
To perform and execute any instructions or other reasonable requests given by Production Manager or senior management team.
Comply with current Health & Safety legislation.
Key Accountabilities
- Dual responsibility for daily office administration
- Liaise with all departments & their third-party service to determine required vehicle lead-times and deadlines.
- Working with the management team by creating daily reports.
- Ensure computer systems are updated with vehicle details and data.
- Carry out general office administration duties.
- Liaising with Transport Traffic Office regarding load vehicles
- Deal with all phone enquires in a polite and professional manner
- Provide support to Office and Production Manager
Job Qualifications
- Telephone etiquette essential
- Communication skills between internal and external clients and departments
- Flexible working hours
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety legislation
- PC skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Presentation of power-point and statistics
- GCSE – English, Maths and IT skills
