The role
As a Vehicle Fitter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We will train you up to be an experienced Fitter, you can expect to learn something new each day; until you become skilled in all aspects of the vehicle fitter role.
Day to day, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team supporting customers including the police, fire, and ambulance service.
- Fit out vehicles in preparation for them being armoured
- Remove and fit seats, panels, roof lining, door cards, interior trim, carpets, switch gear light clusters, bumpers
- Remove and refit automotive parts and components
- Completing minor mechanical tasks; changing brake fluid
- Replacing mechanical components; suspension / brakes
Essential experience of the Vehicle Fitter,
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work effectively under own initiative, or as part of a team to achieve desired results
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
This role is 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with an early finish every Friday and will be based onsite at Walsall.
Qualifications for the Vehicle Fitter,
- NVQ level 2 (or proven automotive experience preferred)
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
