What you'll do
Vodafone UK is looking for an experienced UX/UI designer to join the eCommerce team within the Digital Experience Chapter. The team aims to improve the quality of experiences for our online shop customers.
Working within our team of eCommerce focused UI/UX designers, your day-to-day activities will include creating user journeys, flows, sketches, wireframes and prototypes, and liaising with our research department to validate proposed solutions with users.
This is a great opportunity to make an impact at scale within a large and ambitious organisation, while working in a supportive environment alongside other like-minded professionals.
Key accountabilities:
- Work within an Agile multi-disciplinary team to design and deliver user-interface designs and eCommerce journeys
- Work closely with a wide range of people from across the business to understand and interpret requirements, identify opportunities, and communicate design strategy and rationale.
- Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes; knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.
- Strive for consistency and scale in your team’s design through contributing and promoting our Design System process.
- Help define standards to keep the quality of our ways of working high within the service design community.
- Articulate the benefits of user centered design through your work and when communicating with business stakeholders.
- Provide mentoring and training to junior members of the team, as and when required.
Who you are
- A creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast paced, collaborative, and Agile environment.
- Passionate about developing strategies derived from insight, with the mastery of your craft to turn these into products (both interactions and visuals) adhering to user-centred design principles.
- You are constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback. Whether through hands-on user research, or by designing options for multi-variant testing.
- Proficient with industry standard design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, Axure, InVision etc).
- Confident in liaising with our technology colleagues to get the most out of our capabilities to deliver effective experiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints when designing to produce a balance between feasible, viable and desirable experiences.
- Proven ability to act as a leader in building relationships with stakeholders from various disciplines and influencing others
