Purpose of the Role:

We’re championing user-centred design thinking and data driven change, whilst facilitating design research to help Primark achieve its business goals. As a UX Researcher, you'll contribute from an early research stage through to delivery and in doing so, you'll make a massive impact on what we're doing.



Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Promote customer centricity and ensure focus is on creating great customer experiences through cutting edge design - making it simple, appealing, and easy to use. In doing so, encourage and enable teams to embed user-centred practices into their agile workflow.
  • Advocate for user research and be the voice of our customers, using this shared understanding to impact design decisions and develop solutions.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams, senior stakeholders, designers, product managers and engineers to conduct user research (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Plan, gather and analyse findings and feedback to make informed recommendations and enable continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with product roadmaps to anticipate and identify gaps in user knowledge.
  • Become an SME and assist teams in applying a range of methods to analyse research data and synthesise findings. In doing so, engage with and influence colleagues in their analysis and synthesis - advising on choice and application of techniques, and critiquing findings to ensure best practice.
  • Develop a deep understand of the Primark customer using a range of appropriate research activities. Using this knowledge gained, advocate for inclusive practices and assist relevant teams with their design and delivery of accessible services appropriate for all users.
  • Plan user research for services with challenging user needs and complex user journeys, guiding colleagues on their chosen research methods.
  • Have an awareness of research costs and budgeting.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our current system processes and the Primark landscape, aligning user research activities to help the team understand changing user behaviour.
  • Work with information gathered from multiple sources, evaluate true requirement from team requests, and align user research activities to inform proposed solutions, decision making, and any action as required.
Skills & Experience:
  • 3+ years experience as a UX Researcher, UX Designer or similar role
  • Experience with design thinking process and practical experience of UX methods
  • Experienced in implementing of a range of user-centred practices
  • Ability to create trusted relationships and collaborate across multi country, diverse and multi-functional teams to drive business objectives
  • Experienced in assisting teams adopt a wide range of user research methods
  • Are familiar with the technologies like session recording, heatmapping, AI for analysing data used to build and operate our services
  • Effective and persuasive presentation skills, ability to present complex information comprehensible to all areas of the business
  • Experience with the full range of UX research methods, including early-stage qualitative methods
  • Communicates priorities, setting clear deliverables to drive continuous improvement and high performance
  • Strong advisory and relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to execute the right methodology to obtain the desired outcome
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise work schedule for self and team, and work within agreed timescales
  • Experience with user interviews, AB testing and analytics tools
  • Excellent attention to detail, an ability to analyse and interrogate high volumes of data
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills to enable resolution of roadblocks and ensure progress on key decisions
