Target Audience: Our primary focus is on small business owners with 1-10 employees who have consistent needs for laptops, accessories, parts, repairs, and cloud and data security services. However, we also cater to individual customers who require laptop repairs and retail services.
Sales Channels: While Burrard Laptops operates through a physical location as a showroom and service center, Vancouver Laptop, our online franchise, primarily sells through the digital channel. By implementing an e-commerce website, we aim to address challenges that customers may encounter in-store, such as limited product availability, geographic constraints, and time limitations. An e-commerce website will provide customers with convenience, accessibility, and a broader range of options to meet their needs. Additionally, we have a significant number of domain names for various Canadian cities like Burnaby Laptop, Edmonton Laptop, and others. These domain names will be utilized to clone the Vancouver Laptop design and offer localized online services in each respective city. Each city will have a dedicated repair professional managing the repairs and maintenance services.
User Testing and Customer Feedback: We have not conducted formal user testing on our existing website, and we currently do not have specific customer feedback to provide. However, we are aware that there are areas for improvement in terms of website usability, navigation, and overall user experience. Our goal is to build a better and easier-to-navigate marketplace that not only offers an improved user experience but also provides people who want to list their computers and services with much more affordable fees compared to Best Buy and Amazon.
Customer Onboarding Process: The typical customer onboarding process involves customers visiting our physical location or accessing our online platform to explore the range of services we offer. We understand the importance of providing a seamless and convenient experience for our customers, which is why we have implemented various features to enhance the onboarding process.
For individual customers, the onboarding process includes laptop repairs, retail purchases, and other related services. Our knowledgeable staff is available to assist customers in identifying their needs and recommending the best solutions. In addition, we have introduced online estimates, allowing customers to get an initial assessment of the repair or service required before visiting our physical location or scheduling an appointment.
For small businesses, we understand that IT infrastructure and support are critical for their operations. Our onboarding process for small businesses involves in-depth discussions with our experienced IT consultants to assess their specific needs and provide tailored solutions. We work closely with businesses to understand their goals and challenges, and then offer comprehensive IT solutions, including hardware, software, networking, and data security services.
To further streamline the onboarding process, we have integrated remote support capabilities into our system. This allows our technicians to provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to our customers remotely, reducing the need for physical visits and minimizing downtime.
Additionally, we have developed a customer portal where customers can access their account information, track the progress of their repairs, view previous purchases, and interact with our support team. The customer portal serves as a centralized hub for customers to manage their interactions with us, providing a convenient and transparent experience.
Our aim is to make the onboarding process as smooth and efficient as possible, whether customers choose to visit our physical location or utilize our online platform. Requirements:
Proven experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and projects.
Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, InVision).
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for effective collaboration with developers.
Knowledge of AI integration concepts and a willingness to learn and implement AI technologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams.
Must be living in BC and eligible to work in BC.
Completion of training or education on or after December 1, 2019 (post-secondary or recognized pathways).
Other recognized pathways, such as micro-credentials, are eligible if the content is meaningful (minimum 15 hours to complete).
Students, including co-op students and international students, enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution in BC, are welcome.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly designs.
Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to illustrate design concepts and interactions.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and incorporate feedback to iterate and improve designs.
Work closely with developers to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.
Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, including AI integration possibilities.
Additional Skills (Not Required, but a Plus!):
Backend programming skills (e.g., Python, Java) to contribute to AI integration projects.
Experience with AI-powered design tools or platforms.
Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools.
