UX Designer

Location: Fully Remote, UK

Contract Type: Full time, Permanent, 40 hour week

Interviews: Max 3 stages totalling around 3.5 hours

Reports to: Lead Product Manager

Salary:We have benchmarked a salary in the region of £50-£55k, dependant upon experience

That’s why we’re seeking a UX Designer to come and help lead and manage our research function at
Vable, establish a clear voice of the customer, and build a centre of excellence for the research practice.

We would love to hear from you if you have the criteria below:

● You have at least 3 years proven work experience within a UX environment

● A strong communicator with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders

● An exceptional understanding of varied UX research methodologies to deliver high-quality and high-profile research which has actionable results

● Experience using tools and processes to simplify our ways of working and increase effectiveness

● An understanding of web and app development and the role of UX Research at different stages of product development.

● The ability to deal with research questions and apply the correct methodology(ies) to research questions. You should have experience in both quantitative and qualitative research

● Exceptional organisational skills. Can coordinate across different domains and can ensure we are aligned with company strategy

● Be a Figma wizard, working methodically and systematically. You are creative and self motivated

● Be well versed in Product Design processes

● Excellent attention to detail, reliable and well organised

● The right to live and work in the UK

Nice to haves:

● Worked within a tech environment and in particular SAAS business

● UX qualification and a love of all things customer focused

The day-to-day job:

While the below is not an exhaustive list of your duties, it outlines the bulk of the role on a

day-to-day basis.

● Working closely with the Lead Product Manager to design and spark ideas to solve problems

● Presenting your designs and ideas to clients and stakeholders

● Assisting with competitor and customer research

● Facilitating design workshops, customer interviews and user-testing sessions

● Wireframing and mapping out user journeys

● Ensuring copy is clear and consistent within the platform

● Creating Design Systems or working with existing ones and advising on best practice

● Identifying where workflows are not working, testing them and improving process

● Have a good understanding of data and use this within your approach to the job

● Identification of options with key stakeholders, schedule testing and spot problems along the way

● Prototyping testing

● Using both qualitative and quantitative research methods to draw conclusions

● Liaising with with our engineering team

● Transform strategy into meaningful positive change for our end users

● Lead development of UX assets and deliverables

● Lead and establish best practices to drive the best experience

● Ensure adherence to design and research best practices, standards and consistency

● Coordinate research across different domains and ensure we are aligned across strategy

● Carry out interviews with potential end users, able to present the findings and showcase what the research finds

● You have an excellent work ethic, are extremely process driven and can manage time well

● You are able to work effectively within a remote team and have a desire to stay up to date on the latest industry trends

● Numbers, optimising processes and creating new ways of doing things doesn't scare you and you really enjoy it

● You have passion in what you do and have the knowledge and skills to deliver an outstanding service to our stakeholders

● You are confident and can present findings well

Intro Call: You will meet Sarah or Suzanne first on a 30 minute zoom call; you don't need to prepare anything in advance. The idea is to see if it's a good option for both Vable and you. It’s time to discuss your background a little more and for us to answer any questions about the role, team, company or culture.

Interview: If after the intro call, we’re both excited to proceed, you will be invited to a second stage interview with Matthew; CEO and James; Lead Product Manager. This

interview will cover your experience, behaviours and personal traits. It should take no longer than 1 hour.

Final Interview:Will usually be with Sarah, Head of People and Culture and may include another applicable Manager. This may include a technical task and will be a chance for you to learn more about our company, culture and team and a chance for us to delve deeper into any areas of your background not yet discovered. This will take no longer than 1 hour and this is the final stage. For most candidates we expect the whole process to be no longer than 3-4 weeks.

We record all of our interviews, with your permission. It makes it easier as we are globally distributed and various members of the interview panel can rewatch and give you their full attention without having to take notes.
