Team and Role Description
As part of the Product team, the User Experience (UX) Designer will make the Lightyear product usable and accessible to our customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Plot user journeys and design user workflows.
- Develop and refine wireframes into clear user interface designs.
- Provide input to product design and UX workflow.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers and other stakeholders, providing guidance to help them implement features and solutions.
- Work with key internal stakeholders to translate requirements and to improve the user experience.
Project Management and Delivery
- Act as an integral member of the product team, being a storyteller, problem solver and contributing to the delivery of user requirements, personas and functional specifications to ensure the design comes to life.
- Take ownership on every stage of the UX process - from running discovery workshops, wireframing and prototyping all the way through to delivering amazing high-fidelity designs.
- Champion simplicity over complexity to translate business complexity into intuitive user interfaces.
- Act as the voice of user experience in product teams, explaining your rationale to developers, and product managers.
- Contribute expertise and collaborate with other members of the team to get to the heart of what our users need, creating sketches, concepts, user journeys, wireframes and navigational prototypes.
- Engage the wider team and key stakeholders in the user centred design process, ensuring that user research is at the heart of design decision making.
- Help to organise formal and informal user research, and proactively try out ideas and designs with people to make sure we’re meeting real user needs.

Essential Criteria:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related position.
- Experience with the full UX design process from user research, to prototyping, testing and implementation.
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate workshops in-person and remotely.
- Familiarity with current mobile technologies (iOS and Android) design trends.
- Strong analytical, influencing, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
