Full Time London, England 41952 - 54952 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

We're UserTesting, a leader in experience research and insights; we believe the path to human understanding and great experiences start with a shared understanding—seeing and hearing how another person engages with the world around them and taking in their perspective. Working at UserTesting, you will be empowered to help organizations discover the human side of business–transforming how they work, collaborate, innovate, and bring new products and experiences to market. This is what inspires us, and it's how we enable companies to connect with their audiences naturally and organically through an experience that is uniquely, and intentionally human.

A trusted company by top brands for 15+ years, UserTesting, recently merged with UserZoom, has over 3,400 customers in 50 countries, including 75 of the Fortune 100 companies. Joining our team means being part of a passionate group focused on transforming how companies learn from and understand their customers. Come join us and help us build the engine for human understanding.

The Opportunity

You will plan, design and carry out research activities with our users that help teams get a deep understanding of the people that use our products. Your research informs propositions, requirements, content and designs, so that our products work well and achieve our business outcomes.

You'll be part of the Product Design team, and will work with our Designers, Product Managers, Engineers and other Researchers to understand how we deliver the right end-to-end product experience for our customers. This role focuses predominantly on working with our Product Managers and Designers to uncover user needs, helping to drive a deeper understanding of our customers. Our Product Researchers strive to know our customers inside and out, they are their advocates and voice, and the critical link that ensures our product meets and exceeds customer expectations. This is achieved through:

  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to translate questions, concepts and requirements into research proposals, choosing the appropriate methodologies and audiences.

  • Engaging with our customers and contributors to discover and better understand their needs, through moderated and unmoderated research techniques.

  • Conducting careful analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, to produce clear findings, and articulating these findings and recommendations, both written and verbally.

What we are looking for

  • Related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience

  • Some experience in using remote tools for user research

  • You have a working knowledge of basic research methods, including: Moderated Interviews, Usability Testing, Concept Testing, Surveys, Card Sorting, Tree Testing, Click Testing, First Impressions.

  • You can perform basic analysis. You're able to review notes, videos, and objectives to synthesize insights that will drive value for customers.

  • You are able to efficiently generate valid insights that address research objectives, and deliver these to our broader research team, iterating as necessary.

  • You understand the role and value of UX research in the business setting, and are familiar with the roles and responsibilities of other teams in a software company and how they engage with Research.

  • You're able to focus on the tactical problems this business is facing, and are aware of how items move through a design process; from discovery to delivery.

  • You can identify who your stakeholders are, what evidence is relevant to them and the importance of managing relationships with them.

  • You have some awareness of the diversity of users of our products and services and the desire to make them usable and accessible for everyone.

Don't meet every single requirement but excited about the role? We encourage you to apply! Research show us that certain demographics are less likely to apply unless they meet 100% of the requirements, but you may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
