Role Details
Ki is the biggest global insurance tech company you’ve never heard of, unless you’ve been looking to insure a satellite, wind farm or music festival recently.
We launched in 2021 on the back of a fundraise that delivered $500m of investment, making us one the largest fintech start-ups that year. Our investors were excited about the fact we were revolutionising the way a 333 year-old industry was working. We have rapidly scaled: In our first year we wrote over $400m of premium and in 2022 we doubled that to $834m. We have developed Ki over the course of the past 2 years and created a platform that helps insurance brokers cover risks in a fast and frictionless way. We’re continuing to lead the charge on the digitisation of this market and that’s where you come in - we need more curious minds to work with us to realise this goal and create more opportunities. If helping us transform a multi-billion global industry sounds exciting to you, read on.
What you will be working on
You’ll take ownership of the user research initiatives for a number of product teams, helping them to plan and execute research. You’ll be someone unphased by the prospect of taking a stand as you’ll have an important voice in representing our users in the product development process to ensure we design and build software that is both valuable and delightful.
Your core user research skills and experience will be invaluable in the role, as you would imagine, but also your innate ability discern the motivations and attitudes of research participants through effective questioning techniques.
A critical role for us, you will find full backing and support is provided and enormous growth potential in the role and beyond.
User Researcher, in a nutshell:
You’ll definitely benefit from some demonstrable experience or knowledge of user research in order to oversee the research process from planning through to the distribution of findings.
By your taking ownership of the user research initiatives, this will enable you to take the lead in the research activities including; planning, recruiting, interviewing, surveying, analysis, synthesis and delivery of findings. Select and use appropriate methodologies to test hypotheses and answer key product questions, ensuring that qualitative research is grounded in a deep contextual understanding of what matters to Ki’s end users, and that quantitative research is empirical in nature and meets statistical rigour.
You’ll help build your colleagues understanding of our users’ behaviours and attitudes by involving key stakeholders such as Designers, Product Owners and SMEs in the research process.
We are hoping you will have the confidence (or with our support may grow to have) to Influence product and design decisions through the delivery of relevant, actionable user insights.
Our culture
Inclusion & Diversity is at the heart of our business at Ki. We recognise that diversity in age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, thought and social background bring richness to our working environment. You’ll get a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package. This is kept under constant review to make sure it stays relevant. We understand the power of saying thank you and take time to acknowledge and reward extraordinary effort by teams or individuals.
If this sounds like a role and a culture that appeals to you, let us know.
