As the UK & IE growth trajectory increases as do our used vehicle trade in volumes. The Used Car Refurb Lead will be responsible for setting up and leading our dedicated refurb locations to enable dedicated focus quick refurb turnaround and high-quality resale vehicles.
Responsible for the overall strategy and set up of 3 key refurb hubs in the UK and 1 for IE, you will be responsible for driving KPIs for quick turnaround and resale, aligning and collaborating with the Used Car Sales Lead. You will build the team of supervisors and technicians for all locations and lead/develop the team to be high performing teams. - Direct and focus the resources within used car refurb function to achieve best outcomes whilst developing and driving robust and flexible processes to meet current and future business demands
- Select and coach a leadership team, giving them tools and clear objectives to be successful and meet their targets. Carrying out monthly performance and development reviews with leaders, understanding what is needed for them to develop their role, setting clear goals, expectations and follow ups.
- Regularly review KPIs, identifying trends and reviewing in more detail with leaders to quickly address any negative trends or issues
- Proactively lead the team, being present in the field and ensuring leader are empowered to make the right local decisions to drive the business forward
- Manage financials from a used car refurb perspective for the country, maintaining an overview of cost savings, employee expenses, operational costs, profit and loss and revenue
- Lead the UK & IE growth and product expansion
- Liaise closely with broader business areas including, but not limited to, Sales, Delivery, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), HR, Recruitment, ensuring a strong network of peers
- A proven background of leading an organisation or national business function to meet operational and strategic targets
- A background of interrogating data and identifying correlation to act on business improvements. Strong analytical IT skills, including use of Excel
- Excellent organization skills, with experience of high-level reporting
- Experience of working in an agile environment, where you have responded quickly to changing business needs
- An open and approachable leadership style, with experience of leading, motivating, and coaching managers along with proven experience of successful delegation to achieve results
- Ability to move between a high-level, holistic business approach and communicating with employees on a grass-roots level
- Regular UK travel will be required
