An exciting opportunity have become available for 10 band 3 Urgent Care Clinical Support Workers within the Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) based in Royal Albert Edward Infirmary (RAEI). MHLT is an established and friendly team who offer a comprehensive range of mental health assessment and brief interventions within one Multi-Disciplinary Team.
We are looking for individuals with an interest and experience of working with all ages. The roles will be based within the Mental Health Streaming Area within Royal Albert Edward Infirmary (RAEI), and within the wider hospital. The service will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is based on shift work.
- Carry out assigned duties from the Shift Coordinator, involving direct care and observation of service users under the guidance and indirect supervision of qualified staff with the mental health streaming area and the wider hospital, reporting back any observations made whilst providing care to the wider team.
- Supporting service users waiting for assessment or intervention in the Emergency Department or wider hospital site, providing emotional support, guidance and brief interventions where indicated.
- Assist in the delivery of direct patient care under the direction and supervision of the appropriately qualified staff.
- Undertake observations in accordance with relevant Trust policy and best practice
- Be required to undertake identified escort duties within and outside the Emergency Department and General Hospital boundaries as delegated following a risk assessment being undertaken by a qualified member of staff
- Liaising with other services and collecting information to ensure a joined-up approach to care for service users.
- You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate care and compassion to all those we support. You will be self-motivated and work well as part of a team, with an ability to keep calm under pressure or in times of crisis.
