TimePlan Education are working in partnership with a Secondary School in Derby to recruit enthusiastic individuals, looking to start a career and gain experience within schools. This role is perfect for anyone with a passion for working with pupils at a secondary level.
The role:
As an Unqualified Teacher/Cover Supervisor, you will be required to support across a range of secondary subjects, providing cover for absent teachers. As a cover you will be responsible for keeping students on task and ensuring they complete the work left by the subject teacher.
The Cover Supervisor role is a great opportunity for anyone looking to take on a career in education whilst seeking more insight and experience into the inner workings of the classroom and school. This role suits people with backgrounds in similar roles such as youth work, coaching, NCS Programme's, teaching assistant and tutors.
If you don't have much experience in a school but are still keen on this role then still apply as this school is looking for people who can make a difference to education .
What do I need to do this role?
- Confidence and the ability to engage with secondary aged pupils.
- Versatile and able to 'think on your feet'.
- Degree educated (in any discipline) - desirable but not essential.
- Strong behaviour management skills and strategies.
- Reactive and able to cope well in a busy environment.
- A genuine interest in education.
