Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4-6 years Professional Recruiting Experience for an organization over 100 employees Required
  • 4-6 years Professional Recruiting Experience in a 4-year University or Graduate School Preferred
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. DE&I is one of the most important aspects of community at CIIS. You must understand, live, and breathe DE&I to bring forth candidates who not just understand, but excel in Diversity.
  • Relationship building. Recruitment is all about networking and creating relationships with candidates and University staff. You cannot be successful in this role if you don't have a strong ability to create strong connections with people. Doing so will help you make a lasting impression with incoming candidates, making it more likely that they will remember CIIS when it comes time to make an employment decision.
  • Target persona research. Recruitment often involves looking for a niche audience within a niche audience.
  • You must have the ability to create targeted, ideal candidate personas that you can use as a reference point in your outreach. These will be your guiding light to ensure that your networking and marketing efforts are focused on the right people.
  • Social media. Today's workforces include a very large group of predominantly Gen Y folks. As such, social media is the best tool you have as a campus recruiter. You should have a strong aptitude for LinkedIn
  • outreach, Facebook and Twitter targeting, audience segmentation, and content distribution via social media. It also helps if you're able to create and engage in organic conversations on these platforms.
  • Interviewing skills. After your networking and candidate generation efforts, you'll likely be called upon to conduct the initial stage of interviews. Like with all recruiters, you should have strong interviewing abilities and coach hiring managers on this skill.
  • Collaboration. Recruitment is, fundamentally, a collaborative process between management, the hiring manager, and the recruiter. Management sets the priority, the hiring manager defines the requirements, and the campus recruiters find the right person. This is a highly collaborative process, making teamwork a must-have skill for this role.
  • Research. Like with target personas, not all venues will be the right choice for your efforts. Because of this, you should have the ability to effectively research different institutions and faculties to determine if a given organization is worth your time.
  • Soft Skills. Recruiters possess a range of important soft skills that make them successful. This often includes strong organization, listening abilities, relationship-building, communication, strategic thinking, and empathy.
  • Training. Recruiters will likely be called upon to coach hiring managers on interviewing best practices.

Physical Capabilities Required
Performing the essential functions of this position requires the use of a computer throughout most of the workday,
the ability to navigate a typical office environment, significant amounts of interpersonal interaction including oral
and written communication, and the ability to keep track of multiple tasks, projects, deadlines, information sources
and business processes.
