The Faculty of Education in central Cambridge is looking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Literacy Education (Primary). It offers an exciting opportunity for a research-active educator to join a leading national and international centre engaged in teaching and educational research. The person appointed will be expected to contribute to the international profile of the Faculty through research publications, grant capture, impactful dissemination, and public engagement.
Working with other colleagues, the successful applicant will be expected to make an immediate contribution to the Faculty's teaching and research, with particular responsibility for the literacy component of the Primary PGCE programme, supporting those training to teach children in the 3-11 age range. They will also contribute to the planning and teaching of the Professional Studies course on the Primary PGCE programme and will be a Partnership Tutor for trainees in schools. Candidates will therefore be qualified teachers, have substantial teaching experience in a primary school setting, and a proven ability to provide an inspirational, enthusiastic model of good teaching to both children and adults.
