Job description
Part Time and Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
The Cambridge Foundation Year is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.6 FTE), two year Teaching Associateship, from 1 September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The role holder will join an established team of six teaching staff supporting the second cohort of Foundation Year students and beyond. We are particularly keen to appoint someone from a social sciences background with interests in data literacy and the relationships between data and public policy who can bolster our capacity to deliver papers which have proved especially popular. There is no preference for a particular subject background, though a willingness to teach qualitative as well as quantitative approaches would be an advantage.
The role holder will play an active role in delivering teaching and contributing to course improvements. They will co-convene Papers throughout the academic year and contribute to examining as appropriate for the course. This is a multi-disciplinary course in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. It is designed to bridge the gap between A Level or other Level 3 achievement and Cambridge degree study for students with the potential to achieve the standard for admission to Cambridge, but who, as a result of educational disadvantage or disruption, do not have the level of attainment or access to qualifications required for entry to a Cambridge course.
Applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
When applying, please upload your CV and cover letter which clearly sets out how you meet the criteria listed in the person specification of the Further Particulars (the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the role) along with relevant examples.
