Job description

We are currently looking for an Assistant Underwriter to join our Underwriting Support team. This role is office based and can be undertaken at our offices in either Harrogate or Darlington.

So what does an Assistant Underwriter do?

This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities

  • Preparation and production of client records
  • Preparation, production, and delivery of policy renewal invitations
  • Checking Third Party databases and accurately recording results
  • Production of management information reports and creating outputs for the business
  • Distribution of policy administration system-based post and emails and handling and directing telephone calls

What are we looking for

  • Someone with a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • It would be ideal if you have farm knowledge/ background and you want to get into the Insurance Industry however this is not essential
  • Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines and organise personal workloads
  • Excellent written verbal and numerical skills
  • Highly organised with a focus on objectives, priorities, and deliverables
