We underwrite from Bermuda, Liege, London, New York, Stockholm, Toronto and Zurich, and have licenses to write Property & Casualty and Accident & Health insurance and reinsurance globally.

Join Our Team

You will be our Underwriting Assistant. As the Underwriting Assistant in our A&H team you will work across both operating platforms, the Lloyd’s managing agency and the UK Branch office, to provide data entry and transactional support to the A&H underwriting team and also provide cover to the other teams within London as and when required. You will report to the International Head of A&H.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Recording, processing and maintenance of all risk information, including endorsements, in the underwriting and document management systems in a timely manner and to agreed standards
  • To identify missing or erroneous information and follow up with underwriters
  • Where required, set up of files within document management system for each risk and ensure placing records are complete
  • Provide other general technical and administrative support across the business as may be required including credit control, premium income estimates and managing the Notice of Cancellation process
  • Provide support for business planning analysis
  • Provide support in maintaining submission logs for the A&H portfolio
  • Liaise with the technical accounts department regarding processing
  • Liaise with claims team in collating claims reviews and other claim associated reporting
  • To perform all duties in line with the FCA Individual Conduct Rules as documented in the Employee Handbook
  • Any other duties as reasonably required.

Your skills and abilities should include:

  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Good organisational skills, methodical with a good eye for detail
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work under pressure at busy times of the year, particularly around key renewal dates
  • General understanding of how the Lloyd’s and London insurance markets work
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of MS Office.
