About the Role:

This is an opportunity to join the well-established and experienced War and Terrorism team within Liberty Specialty Markets. The role offers exposure to a global portfolio of business ranging from SME accounts to large, listed multinationals. The candidate will look to maintain relationships with brokers, clients and business partners in order to manage a renewal portfolio and help develop new business opportunities.

This is also an opportunity to develop and enhance technical underwriting skills with the help of the team and the internal Learning and Development department.


About the Department & Team:

The team are market leaders in this class with over 30 years combined War & Terrorism Underwriting experience. We lead many of the large broker facilities and work closely with our partners to tailor our products to the changing global political and Terrorist risk. Given the recent change in market conditions our team are looking to leverage on their market position and build out their team of Underwriting specialists.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of the annual business plan development in accordance with the stated risk tolerances.
  • Maintain and develop broker relationships
  • Collaborate with our global hubs during Underwriting process
  • Assist the team with day-to-day duties in quoting, reviewing renewals and new business.
  • Analyzing portfolio via data and portals.
  • Aid in the mining of broker pipelines
  • Assist with cross selling withing Liberty Mutual and LSM.
  • Contribute and participate in all meetings in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice
  • Contribute new ideas and concepts to support the development and delivery of the business plan

Skills and Experience:

  • Analytical
  • Underwriting Experience and renewal business authority
  • Excel & data analysis skills.
  • Prior use of aggregate models
